Road tripping MI to FL. Likely stopping around Chattanooga or Knoxville for the night. What’s a nice hotel to stay in? Just need basics, but hopefully clean in a nice neighborhood. Or are there not any in those locales?
Tucker for your time.

Step 1. Go to the woodford reserve distillery for a tour
Step 2. Get “lost” and disappear from the tour group
Step 3. Crash for the night in one of their storehouses
Step 4. Victory.

I like this idea more than I should. Now, the only hitch in the plan might be that I’m travelling with my 4 year old. But still...

When I worked for VW, the company put me up in a lovely hotel called The Chattanoogan a couple times. I recommend it.

I’m assuming you’d prefer a hotel, but there’s a lot of free camping in North Georgia. Just putting that out there.

Crown Plaza in Knoxville or the Holiday Inn in Knoxville are both nice. Both in downtown, 2 minute walk to Market Square for some of the best restaurants in East Tennessee

Did the drive a couple of times, including once with my two shelties (Milo & Wolfy). Needed a place where I could stay with them and Candlewood Suites (Knoxville?) was kind enough to let the three of us crash for the nite. The highlight was observing the dogs’ reaction to getting onto and riding in an elevator.
Not unlike Chauncy’s reaction in
Being There.
